Maniototo Adventure Park Charitable Trust
Naseby's Maniototo Adventure Park is a community-owned recreation destination offering year-round fun and adventure for the whole family. A popular visitor attraction, the park is home to an internationally accredited indoor curling rink, where everyone from first-time visitors to experienced curlers—and even aspiring champions—can enjoy the sport throughout the year.
During the winter months, the park comes alive with outdoor curling, ice skating, ice hockey and the thrills of the Southern Hemisphere's only ice luge. As the seasons change, the adventure continues with the Gold Rush Luge, ensuring visitors can enjoy a unique and memorable experience at the park all year round.
The Maniototo Adventure Park Charitable Trust (MAP) is currently seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to help guide, nurture and grow this outstanding community asset.
As a Trustee, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of the Park, ensuring it continues to thrive for the benefit of local residents, visitors and the many sporting groups that call it home.
About the Role
As a Trustee, you will:
● Ensure the Trust meets its legal, governance and constitutional responsibilities.
● Govern with integrity, accountability and a long-term perspective in the interests of the Trust, its members and stakeholders.
● Contribute to the strategic direction, financial oversight and ongoing growth of the Park.
● Provide governance and oversight of matters relating to the day-to-day operation of the Park.
● Work collaboratively with representatives of the Park's various ice sports and recreational activities, including curling, skating, ice hockey and luging.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from people who can bring:
● A commitment to good governance and strong fiduciary responsibility.
● Strategic thinking and the ability to look to the future.
● High ethical standards, integrity and a collaborative approach to decision-making.
● Sound financial literacy and informed judgement.
● Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about curling, skating, ice hockey and luge.
● The ability to engage positively and constructively in Board discussions and decision-making.
Three Trustee positions are available. While we expect interest from within the curling and ice sports community, we are equally committed to building a diverse Board with a broad range of skills, experience and perspectives.
Trustees work on a voluntary basis and are appointed for a three-year term, with the opportunity to be reappointed for up to two additional terms.
We're seeking expressions of interest from people who share our vision for the future of the Maniototo Adventure Park and are keen to contribute their skills, experience and ideas to the ongoing success of this remarkable community asset.
Expressions of interest should include a brief outline of your background, relevant skills and experience, and your reasons for wishing to join the Board.
Please email your expression of interest to manager@maniototoadventurepark.co.nz no later than 12 August 2026.
